The Newbie Game, Round 8

Let's play a game here.

Explanation:
This game is divided into n rounds, which can range from a few to 20 depending on how many players show interest. For each round, we will play a game. Each round consists of n players, and every next round will include the previous round's players and one new player, called the "newbie".

The players will earn points for each round, which they can then spend on the next rounds in order to gain an advantage. The newbie may also receive points as a start off. Points will accumulate, but they will not be used to determine a final winner.

There will be no final winner; instead, everyone who has won in those n rounds will be winners!

I'll run the game as long as new players keep showing up. Could be 3, could be 30.

Rules:
1) Each game will last for as long as one week, depending on the circumstances.
2) If a player makes no move during any round, that player will be immediately replaced or destroyed, depending on how many players want to play.
3) Applications only count between rounds, (added: after I announce it). That is, if five people apply immediately, the last four applications will not count; if they still want to play, they will have to apply again after round 1. Just post here to apply.
4) Don't communicate outside the thread if I specified not to. On this note, please follow whatever specific game rules this tyrannical mod imposes on you during the course of the game.

Notes:
I saw this game on Mafiascum, as a part of a Survivor challenge held by someone called Blackberry. I thought it was best for two players because you can't exactly play it with 3 or more players (unless you divide them into teams, which is much less fun). It's also a one-round game, which is great.

Welcome spindrift, the newbie for Round 3! spindrift will gain 5 points as a booster.

We'll play a mini 3-person Prisoner's Dilemma.

Explanation:
Each of you will begin with a health of 10. For each round, you can select "cooperate", or "defect against <playername>", with various results. The game will end when only one player is left alive.

• If you cooperate, and no one defects against you, you will gain 1 health.
  
• If you cooperate and you are defected against, you will lose 2 health.
  
• If you defect and are defected against, you will lose 1 health.
  
• If you defect and are not defected against, your health will not be affected.
  

Alternatively, you may use 5 points to purchase a deflector for one round. In this round, if anyone defects against you, they will lose 3 health, but you will not be affected.

The game will end when two players are dead.

Note that outside communication is allowed. You are encouraged to make alliances that may or may not be fake!

Submission:
Since the game may have to run for a large number of rounds, submit to me a "bot" instead of specific instructions for each round. The "bot" determines without confusion what you are going to do each round. For example:
- "always defect against Litral"
- "defect against someone who defects against me twice"
- "always cooperate"
- "defect against a random player every two rounds"
etc.
As long as I know what you're going to do each round, it's okay. If you use the deflector, but you have no points left, I will assume you cooperated - be careful about that.

Points:
The winner will gain 25 points.
The second to die will gain 15 points.
The loser will gain 5 points.
If two or more people die together, they will share their points (i.e. joint victory for first two is 20, joint defeat for last two is 10, and joint victory for all three is 15).

Notes:
The bots each of you sent me were the following:

Spindrift: defect against someone endlessly if they defect once. If another player comes in to defect, start defecting them instead if they defect twice; return to coop after they die.

Cocokiller: defect each alternative turn, starting with the first turn. The target is given by the following series repeated: 0100101011, where 0 is facebook and 1 is spindrift.

Facebook: Defect against spindrift twice. Then, buy three deflectors. Then, keep defecting against Cocokiller. After Cocokiller dies, keep defecting against spindrift.

I saw this game on Mafiascum, run by JDodge. There were around a dozen players, and they manually sent in their actions for each round. The game continued until all died but one, and for each round the penalties and bonuses for cooperating and defecting were different. We could try that out later

For Round 4, we're playing Picking Stones. Yeah.

Explanation:
The game will be divided into several matches. For each match, (n, k) are given. n is the number of stones in the pile, and k is the maximum number of stones you can take from the pile. You will each take turns to take stones (at least one) from the pile according to this list:

1. facebook
2. Cocokiller
3. spindrift
4. PublicEnemy

The person who picks the last stone loses that match, and the remaining players continue onto the next match.

Alternatively: You may spend 5 points when it is your turn to pick k+1 stones!
